Siemens Gas Turbine on the Ship for Ca Mau Power Plants
 

 
  In accordance with project time schedule, on 24th July 2006, two gas turbines and generators for the Ca Mau Combined Cycle Project have been loaded in the port Antwepen to be shipped to Viet Nam.

Each of these most advanced machines weighs approximately 300 tons and have a capacity of 250 MW to contribute to the development of the electricity generation of the country of Viet Nam.

 
 


The machines have been manufactured in the Siemens factory in Berlin on time and are expected to arrive in Ho Chi Minh City by the end of August this year.

They will be put into operation to produce electric energy in March 2007 in order to strengthen national network which is lacking enough power sources and to support the development of Ca Mau and the Vietnam economy.

Siemens AG signed the first Contract with LILAMA Corporation to build power island (Lot 1) of 750 MW Ca Mau 1 Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) in September 2005. The second similar Contract was signed in December 2005 to build power island (Lot 1) of 750 MW Ca Mau 2 CCPP. Process of Engineering, Procurement and Construction of Siemens are well on time. Siemens started erection activities at the Site since 15 June 2006. Open Cycle will start to supply power to the national grid in March 2007 to meet country power demands in dry season, when its hydropower plants can not operate at their full installed capacities for energy needy economy.
