To continue the cooperation between Siemens and Vietnam Standard & Quality Centre (VSQC) in standardization field, on Tuesday the 1st of March 2005, at the Office of VSQC, an official signing ceremony of new Cooperation Agreement between the two parties was organized.

The Agreement was signed by Dr Weigel, Senior Vice President, Standardization & Regulation, Corporate Technology (CT SR) of Siemens AG, Mr Beil, Chief Representative & President of Siemens Vietnam, and Dr Vu Van Dien on behalf of VSQC.

The Agreement was signed in the context of continuously increasing contribution of global trade to welfare of the public at large and the increasing role international standards can play to reduce and eliminate barriers to global trade.

According to the Agreement, Siemens will train Vietnamese staff on standardization and help Vietnam standard authorities in participating in international standardization activities. From Vietnamese side, VSQC will update Siemens on standardization activities in the country, including the tendency for the near future. The Agreement is set in effect for three years. Furthermore, during a recent visit to Vietnam, Mr Froehlich, Head of Section, Asia-Pacific, CT SR, Muenich has carried out a seminar/training on standardization & regulation for teaching staff of Hanoi National Economics University. He also conducted another in Ho Chi Minh City on company standardization for Vietnamese standard authorities staff and people from industry in the South of the country.
