SIEMENS ORGANIZES THE CLINICAL SYMPOSIUM ON ADVANCES OF MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING IN HAI PHONG
The clinical symposium on Magnetic Resonance Imaging’s advances was organized in Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, Hai Phong on 23 March 2007 with the cooperation of Viet Tiep Hospital, 73 Dien Bien Phu Clinic and Siemens Vietnam. The training workshop aims at providing medical doctors and the radiologists with the basic and advanced knowledge in low and mid field magnetic resonance scanners. There are over 120 professors, doctors and engineers working in radiology as well as other departments such as cardiology, neurology, internal medicine from coastal cities and provinces of the North including Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh participated at this event.
The Nobel Prize in medical was awarded to Professor Paul Lauterbur and Professor Peter Mansfield for their contribution in developing the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in October 2003. With the high contrast of soft tissues, MRI is the advanced imaging diagnostic modality which is harmless for live body, enabling to exam different organs and structures of body that are not possible with other imaging methods.
During one-day meeting, the participants will be shared with the clinical applications and typical MRI exams that are now possible with MRI including spine, neurology and muscular-skeletal… This will be a great opportunity for local doctors to meet up and exchange experiences with foreign specialists and professional doctors.
The management board of Viet Tiep Hospital highly appreciates the joint efforts of related parties in organizing this training workshop. “We found that it is very useful and necessary to organize such a workshop to provide the radiologists and clinical doctors with the advances on MRI.” Said Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Ph.D, Vice Director of Viet Tiep Hospital.
Siemens is chosen to be the supplier of MAGNETOM Concerto in Viet Tiep Hospital in Hai phong which is the first Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanner in the coastal provinces of the North. The system was installed thanks to the Government’s initiative on medical socialization that mobilizes the financial sources from the private sectors.
