Project Description
Airfield Lighting & Control System

HoChiMinh City-Tan Son Nhat Airport is the first CAT II airport in Vietnam with a new PC-based Airfield Lighting Control System (ALCS) including taxiway guidance and stop bar/lead-on control system, complete new lighting system for the new 25L runway, new taxiways that go with it as well as a new power supply system. Scope of supply covered two sequenced flashing approach lighting systems, some 30 MCR’s, around 1200 inset lighting, as well as 700 elevated lights and more than 100 taxiway guidance signs, all connected to the power supply and more control systems by over 200 miles of cables – operational since May 2003.

  • Tan Son Nhat International Airport is the first to comply with ICAO Catergory II (Cat II) in
    Vietnam.
  • Ensure safe round-the -clock operation of the runway, even at minimum visibility
    conditions of 350 meters.
  • Training of the ALCS operators and maintenance people of the airports
  • Contribute the development of passenger and cargo operation in Vietnam.
