The “Mobility and Logistics” Division provides hardware, software and service bundles for the optimization and automation of traffic and transport networks on road and rail as well as for airports and harbors. The newly created Division will be in charge of all the businesses of mobility and logistics management for people and goods. These include rail automation, infrastructure logistics, intelligent traffic and transportation systems along with all our electromobility infrastructure activities.
The division Smart Grid supports its customers like power producers, grid operators, industries, multi utilities, cities and rail operators in expanding intelligent transmission and distribution energy grids as well as in integrating centralized and decentralized power generation. For all these purposes we provide the complete range from products, solutions and services for protection, automation, planning, control, monitoring and diagnostics of grid infrastructure as well as products, complete turnkey solutions and services for railway electrification. Software and end-to-end solutions from Enterprise IT up to Smart Metering become more and more important.
The Division comprises the entire Siemens rail vehicle business – railways, metros and locomotives and even trams and light rail and related services. The employees of “Rail Systems” will be responsible for our railway customers worldwide and will jointly develop customized mobility solutions in close cooperation with them on site.
The Building Technologies Division bundles Siemens’ offerings for building security, automation and operations both as service provider as well as a manufacturer of products and systems. The spectrum of products ranges from electrical installation technology, heating and ventilation systems, to security and fire safety systems.
